Enlarging system setup without compromising performance
Enlarging wireless communication systems by adding multiple wireless devices within a limited area usually means additional disturbance and degraded performance. With RTX radio synchronization these issues are mitigated.
About RTX and TeamEngage™ Customers
RTX provides the DECT-based intercom solution TeamEngage™ which is adopted by a broad range of customers who then provide their end-product to events, critical communication, construction, or other industries. The solution offers various network topologies and communication privileges to adapt to the customers' applications and use cases.
The situation: Challenges of network expanding
When the intercom installation requires a longer range or increased number of users, the typical solution is adding more base stations. Adding more base stations will unfortunately introduce problems with the radio link, even with the DECT standard's self-healing ability. This means that the user will experience dropouts, reduced capacity, and other issues due to the interference between the individual base stations and networks. Another issue is that the portable parts such as headsets or belt packs cannot handover between the individual base stations automatically as the individual base stations are not synchronized.
The solution: Enhancing connectivity through synchronized base stations
The solution is to implement wired synchronization of the base stations, which is a feature already embedded in the TeamEngage™ Single/Multicell platform. By doing this the user will be enabled with seamless handover and utilize the maximum capacity in the RTX DECT-based intercom solution.
The impact: Expanding reach and quality
With this feature in TeamEngage™, the customer will be enabled to develop and manufacture an intercom solution for setups with a larger range and number of users. It could be for construction sites with an extensive number of users and utilizing both duplex and PTT (Push To Talk) privileges. Also, the radio coverage quality is improved due to reduced interference from neighboring DECT networks, which enhances the radio performance and high-quality audio connection between the users.
